The first love, it smelled of forest, reading room, and old money. It was Polo Eau de Toilette. Polo Green made me a fragrance fan. Polo Green showed me how beautiful the world of scents can be and Polo Green made me a collector. For me, it’s a solid 10/10.
Now the Oud has come around the corner, the bottle pleasantly familiar, the scent a wonderful addition to the Polo line.
Where Polo Cologne Intense was more of a disappointment for me, as it had nothing in common with the original Polo Green, the Oud, despite its differences, is a revelation. Although it resembles the original Polo Green only slightly, I was immediately captivated from the first spray.
It starts off oud-y, not super strong in a barn-like way, but clear and distinctly perceivable. Cinnamon joins in, which is always present. I also have an association with cranberries or some other red berries, I have no idea where that comes from but it is wonderfully sweet.
The scent lasts extremely long. 12 to 14 hours are within my experience.
