A Real Unwashed Sailor
It took me a few tries to appreciate Seemann Intense. Only after the third or fourth test did I notice the great drydown that bears a strong resemblance to Acqua di Gio in the heart notes.
I particularly liked that herbal scent in Acqua, but I wasn’t fond of the drydown with the aftershave smell.
In this respect, Seemann gets everything right for me. Above all, I can’t detect any shower gel scent; the minimal synthetic quality is practically unnoticeable. After the first spray, you can faintly smell the grapefruit, followed by a salty sea scent with strong seaweed notes.
Seemann Intense is, for me, the best aquatic fragrance I have tested so far. The sillage is decent at first, but unfortunately, the scent didn’t last particularly long at around 26 degrees (about 4 hours) and quickly became close to the skin. Therefore, I don’t see it as a suitable perfume for a hot summer. However, due to its affordable price, it remains a candidate for my favorites list.

I actually bought it for my husband, but I ended up using it myself during our vacation because I didn't have any of my own scents. On me, it smells like melon at first, which I really like. I don't smell it on myself for long, but that might be due to a smell issue I've had since COVID. Hopefully, that will get better. So, don't rely too much on my melon statement; my sense of smell is a bit off at the moment. But I do like the scent as it is!
