Embarrassingly Touched

About 3-4 years ago, Rammstein Rosenrot hit the market, and since I had heard from some YouTubers that the Rammstein fragrances were actually quite good, I was curious. Especially since this one was considered one of the better ones in the line and was also heavily discounted, I decided to get it. So, during a break at vocational school, I made my way to the city to grab the bottle.

As soon as I sprayed the fragrance and was back in the classroom, I heard from my seatmate Vanessa: “What stinks here?” I turned to her and saw her wrinkling her nose - and she was not alone. Several of my classmates had also turned their heads in my direction, and it quickly became clear that the fragrance was not well received by them. Vanessa, in particular, was quite direct in her rejection, which honestly made me a bit embarrassed, but also somehow funny.

As I perceived the fragrance more intensely, it quickly became clear to me that it is very rosy and feminine - and to be honest, rose scents are just not my thing. The rose is quite dominant here, almost a bit too much, and it immediately gave me the feeling that this fragrance wouldn't quite suit me.

The fragrance develops overall very straightforwardly, without any major surprises. While this may be pleasant for some, I simply missed the depth and complexity that I like to find in a fragrance. However, what I cannot deny is the good longevity and sillage: the fragrance stays on the skin for a long time and has a decent projection, which many will surely appreciate.

Still, the bottle now stands untouched in my perfume cabinet. Even after several attempts to give the fragrance another chance, it unfortunately could not convince me. If you like rose scents and prefer clear, uncomplicated perfumes, Rosenrot could definitely be something for you. For me personally, however, it simply remains not the right fragrance - but hey, everyone has their own preferences!

Edit: I just noticed that the fragrance is listed as a women's fragrance. I was almost sure it was offered as a unisex scent before. Maybe that explains a lot - I would have expected it to be more unisex, which probably influenced my initial perception of the fragrance.

First of all: it's bold of you to choose **Rosenrot** - pure niche, as they say: great, but heavy stuff, because of the blood accord. Let it sit for a few years - there will come a time when you'll learn to love it even more. More importantly: NEVER let the girls in high school influence your eccentric taste. You're experimenting just right. Fragrances are a fascinating world of experiences, and there's only something to discover when creative perfumers are at work.
90% of the girls in high school smell like powdered vanilla pudding or overly sweet tutti frutti jam from the drugstore - to the noses of experienced fragrance fans -> so terribly cloying that it makes your stomach turn. Since their opinions are formed within the group, they believe smelling like vanilla cake and fruit pudding is sexy. IT IS NOT! 😆. You're on the right track. -> Sofie's World: the flea on the rabbit's fur sees the world ❤️

Thank you so much for the reply, it's written so well! I completely agree with everything you said, and I've really come to enjoy smelling different from the mainstream. I'm much more adventurous now compared to 2020! 😋

That a fragrance called Rosenrot smells like rose shouldn't be a big surprise ;) For me personally, Rosenrot is one of my ultimate challenges (Vanessa, I feel you!) It has such a strong metallic (blood) note that I can hardly stand it. Many other Rammstein scents, however, I really like.

That's true, I just had much higher hopes.
I can only agree! At least the scent seems to resonate with some people :)
