I am an oud lover, despite those around me not being appreciative of it. Yes, this is a very intense oud, there is a definite barnyard quality to this, but it's also got this woody sweetness to it. Undertones of rich balsamic vinegar. The indolic jasmine playing with the thyme and saffron, I think. As it dries, it loses sweetness and gains smokiness, and picks up some of the saltiness of the ambergris. Not for the faint of heart, not for those who want to smell clean and sparkly, this is for those of us who enjoy pushing the envelope and all the many facets of oud.
