When I think in flourishes...
At first, I think this scent seems familiar, reminds me of something, but I can't quite place it. After a while, it dawns on me. Diamond Rain by Rémy Latour leans in color and scent towards Britney Spears Fantasy The Naughty Remix, but less "in-your-face" and also shows similarities with some little apples from Lolita Lempicka, but with less of a licorice touch. Overall, it comes out powerfully from the sprayer, as if it wants to show others that its qualities can also belong to others. And what strikes me right away is that the praline, which should appear much later, is already mixing in strongly from the start, giving the fragrance a wonderful chocolate note from beginning to end. Those who love such scents will hardly be able to keep their nose away from it or, as if in a trance, chase after those who have dusted themselves with it ;-)!
Especially in the cold, very cold, and a...cold temperatures, pardon, that prevail now, it unfolds a cozy warmth and deliciousness that almost manages to bring back the festive days of December. It remains unobtrusive, and although not loud, it harbors a dangerous potential for addiction. If I had to cluelessly compile my own effective list of ingredients, I would unintentionally overlook most of them, as I really only perceive the chocolate note, and very importantly, in praline quality, perhaps a bit of vanilla and a hint of wood. For me, it doesn't bloom, it "fruits" just as little, and the otherwise powerful factors in perfumes like jasmine, patchouli, or iris, bergamot, and also mandarin completely fade in my scent perception for this creation. But they don't need to show themselves to me in the praline note; I can live with that. Furthermore, neither diamonds nor any that rain down on my head appear before my mind's eye. This scent has no "sparkle," no "glow," and I would only see "stars" if I applied it too heavily. The little juice could just as well come in a rounder, brownish-toned bottle or perhaps bronze, wearing a dark velvet cord instead of a silver chain with pink diamonds, and its cap would be a creation like the gold filigree Vince Camuto lids.
Its little bed would be a suede case or a velvety fluffy cloth in a black box, bordered with a gold thread and richly adorned with plenty of ornaments in the front and back.
Everything about this Rémy lets me drift into kitschy dimensions. Bathing in melted pralines. Taking a chocolate river ride with Willy Wonka. Discussing with him whether the new drops should have a sugar glaze or curved decorative lines and gold dust.
And of course, I would get to taste them...
I just wake up - what a beautiful dream. A sniff of the fabric and I'm back there.
This fragrance makes me completely "think in flourishes..."!
