Insurrection II Pure Reyane Tradition 2013

Green Pineapple for a Successful Everyday Life
So here it is, the supposedly best clone of the "scent of scents," namely Aventus by Creed, which I have never smelled myself ... and probably wouldn't buy even if Insurrection II Pure actually comes close to 85%. Reason 1: the price, Reason 2: the overall impression, which drifts a bit too much into the floral-mossy territory for my taste, although I seem to be quite alone in this opinion! ;-)
Still, a great fragrance: Fruity and green notes come together here in exemplary harmony, combined with a lasting freshness and a gently woody base note. Everything is well blended with a slightly prominent pineapple. The overall character bears a certain resemblance to Montblanc Legend, which seems fruitier to me but also more one-dimensional and artificial.
Are such fragrance pyramids generally referred to as "Fougère"? I'm not entirely sure, but I would guess so. In any case, one woman particularly liked this scent on me: It was my mother! ;-) And yes: Perhaps the overall impression feels a bit too "classically" constructed for me. Since the early 1990s, I have been interested in perfumes, although not to the extent that I am today. Purely instinctively, I would place Insurrection II Pure (by the way, a really cumbersome name) more in the time before that.
Therefore, for me, it's not necessarily a milestone, but a solid all-rounder for everyday life and all related activities. Longevity and sillage are in the upper "mid-range" category. In my opinion, it fits very well in a modern barbershop, but less so for a first date.

I don't know Insurrection II, but based on the notes, I would have definitely guessed it was a Chypre. Especially since it's supposed to smell like Aventus, which is definitely a Chypre. Not that it matters-just saying if you want to get to know Fougère, this one is probably not the best choice.

I can't really break it down into notes; I can just sniff it and say whether it's a Fougère, like with Chypre. The smoky aspect doesn't fit my idea of a Fougère scent. Or to put it simply: I don't like Fougère, but "Insurrection II Pure" suits my son perfectly. But like I said, it's quite possible that I'm mistaken.

Well, Fougère is defined in the top notes by bergamot, lavender, and geranium, as far as I know. Oakmoss is always included too, but there's also coumarin, which can be derived from many plants and has a scent reminiscent of freshly cut grass.

Are you sure it's a Fougère? So far, I've understood something different, but I'm open to being taught.

I won it in a package auction and gifted it to my young gardener (30). So far, he’s only received compliments for "Panorama" (mini sample). Well, I’m curious to hear more about this!
