Oriental Essence - Maharaja d'Or Rituals 2016

The third in the lineup of Rituals fragrances from my little sample box - three times 12 ml of explorations for my olfactory senses. After Sultan de Muskat (clear recommendation) and Eau du Kashmir (delicious but not long-lasting), now comes Maharaja D’Or. Well - “Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp” would have been a better name. Flacon opened and sprayed on a paper strip, and I was quite impressed. 7 sprays under my T-shirt and shirt - quite a lot and - nothing. How? Nothing. Gone. The spirit. However, not back in the bottle but completely. I've never experienced anything like it. A perceived longevity of 30-45 seconds at a radius of about 30 centimeters. A nice scent. I think. Gone too quickly to leave any impression at all. How did the perfumer manage that? Scents that apparently cancel each other out. A bag of roasted almonds from a passenger at the other end of a train compartment smells longer and more intensely. Even a re-spray (4 more sprays - with Fahrenheit I would smell for a day and a half) does nothing. Again, the nuances vanish instantly under the T-shirt and are - gone. The saleswoman in the store explained that Maharaja D’Or is a limited-time fragrance, available only until the end of the year. Wrong! It actually doesn’t exist, this bottle spirit. I will not mourn this Maharaja. Because - I could hardly get to know him. Perhaps another fragrance enthusiast associates something different - from my side, I tend to advise against it. Better to take two mini flacons of Sultan de Muskat - you’ll definitely get more out of that.
