Neon, I know you!
After the mother of a student asked me at the beginning of the week, holding a hand in front of her eyes, whether I had been out as a school crossing guard at a broken traffic light before class - I was wearing a nearly neon-colored top with matching ballerinas - it was clear: I would test "Neon" as the first fragrance from the Roadswander package.
I associate Neon with bright colors and brightness, a signaling effect, but also sometimes something provocative.
So off I went and gave a good spray on my left forearm.
I know the scent: at first, it clearly smells like "Cašmir." Strange, as the fragrance pyramids are maximally similar.
To check, I applied Cašmir on my right arm.
Indeed, both fragrances are almost identical. "Neon" is not quite as opulent, and the sillage is much weaker, but still identical.
After about 15 minutes, I began to have my first doubts. Something is different!
One could have diagnosed me with pronounced hospitalism, as I had to constantly sniff alternately at my left and right arm in a 10-second rhythm.
It is the base that differs after the scent has fully developed.
"Neon" lacks the sweet vanilla note that is so pronounced in "Cašmir." Instead, the drydown in Neon is not so oriental, but rather leans towards woody. It is the iris that holds from the heart note to the base and is clearly detectable.
"Neon" is definitely the small, somewhat weakly built double to "Cašmir."
In terms of sillage and longevity, "Neon" is inferior, but still strong and very lasting. I could still perceive both the next morning. Delicious!
A great fragrance for anyone who likes the sumptuous Chopard but prefers a lighter version. L'Eau de Cašmir.
The name "Neon" is really misleading. I wouldn't have expected a sweet, powdery scent with a light floral undertone here, but rather a cooler and fresher perfume. More shrill and provocative than soft and sweet.

Neon paßt aber auch nicht zu mir. Wenn Cašmir genauso duftet, sollte ich den lieber nicht testen.
