Fragrant Baroque
As lush as the Bavarian Baroque churches in Pfaffenwinkel, Vison Noir is adorned. Just as one hardly knows where to look first with Baroque architecture, so many notes rush at me with this perfume that I initially feel dizzy. However, the commotion soon settles, and Vison Noir becomes an expressive, elegant floral scent with an expansive sillage and very good longevity.

As is to be expected with such an extensive pyramid, individual building blocks cannot be pinned down. In short, I would describe the scent as floral-spicy with a powdery finish. Patchouli and incense are used very subtly, so no one needs to fear them, and none of the floral notes overpower the others. I think Vison Noir was a bit behind the times, as it strikes me as similar to Knowing. In any case, it reminds me of the grenades of the 80s.

The scent does not smell of overripe fruit to me, and Lillylamoure must have really gotten a mini that was just overripe. Fishing for minis from the internet is probably only advisable for bottle collectors. I have also had the experience that the contents were past their prime.

Well, the fur hat really wasn’t necessary, but I’ll just imagine that the rest has ended up as rabbit stew in the pan anyway. Since production has apparently been discontinued, we don’t have to boycott the scent for that reason.

better naked than fur...
unfortunately, curiosity prevailed when the mini crossed my path in the vastness of the internet. the golden bottle with the cute fur hat closure looked simply too promising. however, the first shiver came already when unpacking: I could swear on my life that the fur is real!
which wouldn’t be surprising, as robert beaulieu, may he rest in peace, was a fur couturier. I should have done my research better beforehand.

the next shudder ran down my spine when I tested it. many, many, veeeery many flowers paired with overripe fruit! now, I’m not usually a big fan of fruity-floral scents anyway, but in this combination, it literally takes my breath away. there is nothing, absolutely nothing fresh about it. if anyone knows terry pratchett, just this much: garden of death...

I can’t make out a notable top note, at least on my skin. instead, what hits me are mainly orchid, tuberose, and plum. the scent doesn’t change much after that, only softened a bit in the base by musk and woody notes. the unpleasant impression remains. the longevity is, as always in such cases, phenomenal. the sillage, if you use more than I did, is surely also significant.

vison noir lands in 2nd place on my negative list... right after narcisse by chloé, which has actually made me feel nauseous...

A scent for a grand entrance in an evening gown and fur draped over bare shoulders, polarizing just because of the fur
I like it!

A true fur perfume. Jasmine and neroli trumpet, rose and sandalwood create a terrifying opulence. Too ladylike, more 80's than 1991.
