Roja Burlington 1819
Burlington 1819 is a perfume that was created to celebrate the five-year existence of Roja's leading perfumery in the famous place and home of many luxury brands, Burlington Arcade, which was built 200+ years ago, in 1819 to be exact. Burlington 1819 has a lively opening with sparkling lime, grapefruit as the first notes of quite sharpness that lingers on the skin for a longer period than usual in perfumes, to my surprise. Only after a longer period does it become warmer and more comfortable. Invigorating notes of mint, ginger, oakmoss and cashmere follow. The cumin spice comes to the fore quickly, although fortunately not too strongly, rounding off the top notes that are still felt in the perfume and tangle with the oak moss. Rum, cashmere and tobacco are so beautifully blended, light and non-offensive as if they are only there to round off and complete this elegant and refreshing perfume composition. Only later in the drydown do the resinous labdanium and benzoin notes that continue to carry this perfume composition begin to be felt! The duration of the perfume itself is more than good, and it is one of the better purchases this year. Thumbs up for Roja!!!
