TL;DR: Elixir Eau de Parfum is a delicate, feminine spring and summer fragrance with floral and fruity notes. It starts fresh and develops into a fine bouquet of flowers. It lasts about four hours and is less complex than other fragrances by Roja Dove.
Elixir Eau de Parfum was one of the scents from the official “Women’s Discovery Set” that was previously unknown to me and impressed me. Even though it is not a masterpiece, the fragrance continually drew me back to the sprayer to sniff it.
To echo BelleRuth's statement here: I believe that “Feminine without the need for seduction” hits the nail on the head. Elixir Eau de Parfum is an unmistakably feminine fragrance that brings delicate, fruity, and above all fresh, floral notes. Similar to "Sakura | Acqua di Parma," which is also a rather feminine, fresh-floral scent, I think this fragrance could be worn by a well-groomed man. However, that would undoubtedly be unusual, perhaps even a bit extravagant.
At the beginning, the fragrance unfolds wonderfully fresh with distinct floral and sweet-fruity notes. It is accompanied by a pleasant creaminess that somewhat resembles face cream. A soft, velvety scent emerges, artfully reminiscent of the delicate texture of tulip petals.
After thirty minutes, the creaminess diminishes and the floral notes gain strength. An interesting, barely noticeable green note is added, which harmonizes beautifully with the flowers. It can be described as the entirety of a flower: from the gently scented petal to the plant-like aroma of the stem. At this point, Elixir Eau de Parfum smells like a fine bouquet of flowers with a fruity undertone derived from raspberry and peach. A pleasantly fresh-floral cloud lingers in the air, evoking the image of a blooming spring.
In the first hour, Elixir Eau de Parfum remains unchanged, with individual facets of the fragrance repeatedly becoming more prominent. Even after an hour and a half, the scent is still beautifully floral, although the freshness and fruitiness gradually decline. Additionally, there is an extremely light hint of wood.
After two and a half hours, Elixir Eau de Parfum is still floral, but only perceivable close to the skin. The base notes slowly open up, giving the fragrance a certain warmth. Compared to the fresh opening, the scent now seems somewhat “dull.”
In the fourth and fifth hours, the fragrance is finally very close to the skin and resembles a few days old bouquet of flowers (read: less fresh and fruity). The flowers bid farewell but are still perceptible. A light sweetness from the vanilla emerges, while the wood becomes more pronounced. In the drydown, Elixir Eau de Parfum is by no means a woody or typical vanilla scent.
In my opinion, a longevity of about four hours is acceptable for a fresh fragrance. On hot spring and summer days, for which Elixir Eau de Parfum is perfectly suited, one would likely want to wear a lighter scent anyway.
Compared to other works by Roja Dove, this fragrance seems less complex and progresses more linearly. Those looking for a truly beautiful, crowd-pleasing, yet still unique floral fragrance and are willing to pay the price will not go wrong with "Elixir (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums."
By the way, for anyone considering trying other fragrances from the “Women’s Discovery Set” by Roja Dove, I can recommend the following: If you enjoy the light creaminess of "Elixir (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums," you should definitely test "Isola Sol | Roja Parfums." This fragrance evokes fresh vacation days in summer and the gentle breeze of sunscreen. If you prefer something a bit more complex and opulent, you should definitely try the sweet-spicy rose in NüWa (2015) - one of my absolute favorites.
