And precisely for this reason - as I have read - Roja Dove created "Manhattan":
A journey back to what once was; a reminder of the glitter and glamour of the "Roaring Twenties".
A retrospective full of hope for what is to come.

(Let's not forget Jay Gatsby's ever-repeated: "Old sport!"; even if no one could say it as casually and nonchalantly as Robert Redford!)

The magic of this time, a time of transition, is skillfully captured here again.
The herbal spice of lavender and basil celebrates the arrival of bergamot.
It is as familiar to us as an old pair of shoes; therefore, it requires a special accompaniment; otherwise, we wouldn't really notice it anymore.
This opening is interesting, particularly due to the slightly peppery charm of basil.
And of course, a visit to the flower fields of Grasse must not be missed: no Roja fragrance without the nobly scented May rose, the aromatic intensity of the large-bloomed jasmine, whose golden-yellow faces are crowned with white petals.
The dark violet of the violet shines, and the color-coordinated heliotrope already hints at the expected sensuality of vanilla.
This floral diversity is arranged in a coconut with its flavorful flesh: peculiar yet enticing!
The true beauty of "Manhattan" reveals itself to me through the cleverly and spicy fermented tobacco leaves.
I already enjoy this unique sweetness of dried tobacco without the rich additions.
But what fragrance notes are used here to create a magnificent olfactory experience is simply refined.
A parade of kitchen spices like cinnamon, clove, pink pepper, and fiery ginger meets typical base notes.
The aromas of silky-silver cedar and spicy-resinous pine encounter those of damp fertile earth through oak moss, golden-brown patchouli, and vetiver (a trio that always impresses).
Here, classic chypre accords are set that keep everything in harmony.
Thus, a deep harmony is created with the scent-saturated brown, softly rustling tobacco leaves: they breathe in each individual fragrance note with pleasure, only to exhale it later as a sensual whole, skillfully seducing.
Of course, warm, resinous-spicy smoke from benzoin and the charming scent trio of vanilla, tonka bean, and musk must not be missing.

We enter a room where dim light makes the wood-paneled walls shimmer mysteriously.
The delicious scent of this creation spreads noticeably; an opulent cocktail of many different ingredients is served here.

A glance out the wide windows at the well-known, ever-impressive nighttime illumination with the knowledge: This night will be long!
