Not much is known about Rave for Women. I picked it up for 8 € back then, thinking that for such a low price, you can't go wrong. In the worst case, I could sell it again for 6-7 €. But in the end, I kept it, even though it smells remarkably similar to another fragrance in my collection. The perfume I mean is "Club Black | Mercedes-Benz".
About the scent: I find the opening terrible. Something here smells like iron or metal or even rust, paired with an artificial, sweet vanilla. Club Black, on the other hand, starts off more pleasantly but still alcoholic. In the first few minutes, the differences are still significant.
In the dry down, this unpleasant metallic note slowly disappears. What remains is this beautiful creamy, powdery vanilla as known from "Club Black | Mercedes-Benz" and a sweet plum. Something also smells almost minimally leathery; I can't explain what it is. In Club Black, I don't smell any plum; otherwise, both fragrances are about 90% similar at that point.
The longer you wear Rave, the more the plum fades into the background, until after 10 minutes I can hardly perceive it anymore. From that moment on, there is virtually no difference in the air between the Sapil and the Mercedes. The Sapil is a bit darker and spicier, but otherwise really very, very close to the original. However, the original does seem to have a slightly higher quality, I must say.
I don't perceive the floral notes; maybe a bit of iris, but that note isn't really present for me. However, something strongly resembles vanilla, even though it's not listed here. It's probably the combination of various notes that smells like vanilla.
A really great unisex fragrance that I don't only see on a lady. Men can wear it just as well without smelling feminine.
In terms of performance, I was very surprised by the longevity. After 16 hours, it was still clinging to my skin. Then I had to wash it off; I can imagine it would have lasted a good 20 hours. However, the projection is rather moderate.
My conclusion: If you have the original, you don't necessarily need this one. If you love the original so much that you think, come on, for 8 euros I'd like an alternative, then Rave for Women is really a good investment.
