Successful Spring Fragrance with a Gentle Anise Note

My first blind buy: Since my beloved recently shattered his cherished "Barfly" by Scotch&Soda on the tiled floor, I wanted to make him happy and order a replacement. I had long regretted that Scotch&Soda had not yet released a female counterpart to this wonderful men's fragrance. And voilà: While reordering, I stumbled upon L'Eau Scotch R'Belle, labeled as a fragrance for girls. I consider children's fragrances unnecessary. I read through the notes and thought, this could definitely work for women nearing 30 ;) and might be my thing. So I added it to the cart; at the price of just under €30 for 50ml, you can't go wrong.

Indeed, the fragrance hits the mark for me; it is exactly what I was looking for. A feminine counterpart to Barfly.
After the first spray, a pleasant, floral, slightly sweet scent unfolds. I pondered for a brief moment whether the fragrance might actually be too sweet and a bit kitschy, thus too young for me. But then it develops; the floral notes remain, the sweetness recedes, giving way to anise and mint. I am thrilled!

Not overly sweet, but ethereal, like the earliest spring when not everything is blooming yet, but the grasses and buds are slowly making their way: That's how it smells. I really like anise, and that is certainly an advantage with this fragrance, as I can clearly detect it. For me, this perfume becomes special precisely because of that and differs significantly from my other spring favorites and clean scents like Trussardi's "My Name" or Eclat d'arpege by Lanvin, even though it carries the same lightness. It is in no way aquatic or herbal, has nothing scratchy about it, but gently embraces the body, is floral and fresh. Unobtrusive, with moderate sillage, it is just right for any (spring) day.

Anyone looking for an alternative to the usual, often stronger spring fragrances from well-known perfume brands will find this a good choice. I can perceive the scent on me for about half a day with 4 sprays. It lasts a bit longer on clothing and hair. So I find the price-performance ratio completely acceptable. I am happy to have snagged this niche fragrance. A clear recommendation for lovers of gentle, skin-close scents that stay in the background without missing their effect. And that effect for me is: Good mood and a desire for a spring walk.

I'm usually cautious with anise, but the rest of your description sounds great. Since I already have Scotch&Soda EdP Women, I might just go ahead and order it somewhere... Elfenpokal
