Kretek with orange peel
Many Lutens fragrances from the COLLECTION NOIRE are too much for me. I recognize the quality, but I don't like to smell them on myself, because they are often too loud and roomy for me.
With the rather light fragrances from the series LES EAUX DE POLITESSE I haven't found anything so far. I also didn't like the new one at the first test. The carnation is too annoying. My first association: it smells like a Kretek cigarette.
Attracted by the unusual emerald-green color of the perfume I tasted again last weekend and was surprised. Now the citric orange came through well and together with the pleasantly spicy clove it developed into a great, warm, strangely patchouli-like scent.
Lutens describes Des clous pour une pelure as an invigorating and purifying fragrance.
I think so too. And he looks pretty good next to my Pink After Shave in the bathroom.
