It’s like a guy wearing a pink shirt

The first time I smelled Impudent Homme, I distinctly remember my experience. Its base of buttery vanilla and soft vetiver made immediate sense to me and IH felt instantly at home on my skin. Not only did it smell fantastic, it also reset the narrow boundaries of masculinity as defined by designer perfume brands. It spoke of freshness, modernity and sophistication, without being pretentious or cliché. Yes, IM is really audacious and impertinent!

IH opens fresh and balsamic with aromatic green cardamom and smooth yet subtle anise flavor. In a few minutes time the heart reveals a delicate breath of orange blossom and bright lavender, which result in a floral and creamy facet, with a bit of powdery that reminds me Polge's touch in Dior Homme and Valentino Uomo, although neither iris nor orris are mentioned in the notes.

The base is deep and comforting, the velvet touch of vanilla powder used to softly blanket the usual masculine lavender, soft spice and leather shade is genius. This is pale silk in a bottle. There is no lipstick - only silky powder over lavender. In the late drydown, completes the stylish composition with a hint of smoky leather. Supremely elegant, discreet, unfussy, sophisticated and neutral in the most positive sense of the word

I would stay away from this fragrance during the hottest months of the year, but can be worn all year around besides that, great for this early cold autumn. Sillage is moderate, longevity is more than 6 hours on my skin.
