Chinese Patchouli Vanilla Cream with Killer Sillage

I really love Shanghai Tang. In Macau and Hong Kong, I enjoy wearing their clothes. I like the style. I like the candles, and now I also like their fragrances.
The bottles excite me. They are heavy, noble, elegantly Chinese, and say: luxury from the Far East.
They hold 60ml.
Everything fits and creates a super premium impression.

But let's get to the scent.
The opening is very feminine. Cold cream vanilla that becomes deeper and warmer over hours until the end, likely due to the amber and labdanum. The patchouli, on the other hand, is a bit of a disruptor. It smells musty, damp, earthy green, and somewhat floral. A slightly oily/gas-like scent comes to mind. It remains unremarkable but attractive until the end. A rather straightforward progression without many curves in its development.

The fragrance smells very noble yet also somewhat overly assertive and provocative.
Use it discreetly. It lasts for days on clothing and 24 hours on skin. The sillage breaks through several rooms. It smells better when you don't sniff directly on the skin surface.
I waver in my opinion but can find something appealing in it. It will find its lovers among vanilla-patchouli fans who adore luxury bottles. I'm sure if I liked patchouli, it would have earned a love and an 80% rating. But that's not the case.
The prices are around €138 online and also at Alsterhaus Hamburg for 60ml.
