Carried by cloves/love, shaped by sandalwood/storms. The epitome of grace and distinction.
Too beautiful to be pretty.

Great description. “Too beautiful to be pretty,” I’ll remember that. I have many pretty fragrances in my collection, but only a few beautiful ones…

You said that beautifully! Even though it doesn't really smell good on me - unfortunately.

I also love being enveloped by cloves.

Unfortunately, the Lutens version was very subtle for me. Maybe I would have had better luck with the Shiseido predecessor.

What a great description of what seems to be a perfect fragrance! The house really had some true gems in their lineup back then.

That sounds so tempting from you too! I overlooked this one for a long time because I always had the similarly named scent from Lutens in my mind. But this one must be much nicer.

@SebastianM Good that you mention that, I'll add it to my watchlist :)

@Andin The original version is much more beautiful and unique than the current one. It truly lives up to the words of the fragrance.

@SebastianM Ah, thank you for this information, I didn't know that! Hmm, my test of the Lutens version was quite a few years ago, and I didn't really like it back then. It's possible I might feel differently now, but that does take away a bit from the praise I had already given it.

It's the same scent. The Shiseido version is the original. This vintage perfume naturally differs from the current version due to reformulation, as is often the case, but it's still the same perfume, not just a coincidence in naming. (Before Serge Lutens founded his own brand, he worked for Shiseido from 1980 to 2000, initially as an image creator.)

What a statement! I don't know it yet, but I guess I need to change that.
