Normally, fruity scents have a hard time with me. There are only a few exceptions. With Glaze Ecstasy, it wasn't the raspberry or the apricot jam that caught my attention at first, but the vanilla cream and the caramel. Somehow, the overall composition appealed to me, so I started a sharing. I didn't have high expectations, though. Yesterday, the new Simone Andreoli from Italy arrived at my place. Initially sprayed only on a paper strip, the first pleasant surprise: No piercing fruity notes in the opening, the vanilla is noticeable from the start. The fruits are wonderfully harmonized, with me perceiving more of the apricot jam than the raspberry. I don't detect caramel at all - if someone had told me that beforehand, I probably wouldn't have started the sharing. But - it doesn't bother me at all. The vanilla transforms the fruits into a wonderfully creamy scent that has a gourmand quality. The fruit acidity is, for me, only very subtly present, if at all. Imagine warm apricot dumplings with vanilla sauce for winter and apricot fruit tarts nestled in fluffy vanilla cream for summer. This scent lies somewhere in between. That makes it wearable for me in any season.
In the meantime, Glaze Ecstasy has also been tested on the wrist and found to be good as well. My initial concerns that it might come off a bit too artificial did not materialize. Glaze Ecstasy becomes a bit more gourmand in the dry down, but actually, there is hardly any scent progression. But that doesn't matter. I find the composition of the individual components very successful, so I'm already considering buying a bottle because not much is left from the sharing.
Sillage and longevity are average for me; however, I'm a poor benchmark for that. I could imagine that Glaze Ecstasy has above-average longevity for many perfume lovers. The bottle is of good quality, although there are aesthetically more appealing bottles for me.
So, if a sweet scent doesn't deter you, you should definitely give this one a try. I have rarely been so pleased with my own sharing!
