Curious as I am, I must of course test every sample that dear fragrance friends send me; they know how much I enjoy embarking on olfactory adventures.
Often it is worth it; my horizons and sensory experiences have expanded in the process: I have learned to marvel again! Isn't that lovely?
Moreover, I still remember the saying from my early days here by Sweetsmell: “Every fragrance is worth a test; every test a comment.”
Yes, my dear: It has been several years since you said that, but just this morning, your saying came back to my mind.
Is “Necromancy" by "Sixteen92" really worth a contribution?
Some thoughts, definitely; that is the minimum courtesy, as the perfumer has also made an effort.
Well, I will be honest here too: I haven't experienced such cultivated boredom on my skin for a long time (or perhaps not at all?).
I don't know whom to worship according to the website “Sixteen92”: This expressionless something that sits limply on my skin and seems to be just waiting to escape?
First, Oud raises its weary head; faintly recognizable, as if this fragrance has already gone through the main wash cycle.
Well, there are many dogs named Poodle: Let's call this pale woody note "Oud" and forget for a moment what Oud really is, what it can truly be:
Namely a worldview of fragrance, a basis for discussion - a whole Oud universe!
An indefinable spice for me (is that really that lovely white funnel-shaped flower of the thorn apple with the slightly wavy edge?) mixes with resinous incense of benzoin and frankincense; this too is already slightly faded.
Other, presumably white flowers join those of the thorn apple, and the entire composition, (Should it perhaps even remind one of an altar or something similar?) comes across as washed out to me.
The promised communication with I don't know whom or what, unfortunately does not take place:
Not even with this fragrance creature! Where is it supposed to lead me?
It murmurs quietly to itself; I don't understand it - conclusion: We are boring each other!
All that has been announced on other pages unfortunately does not reveal itself to me.
Warm-spicy, balsamic, smoky: “Necromancy" is none of that or only very faintly perceptible; yes, even Oud is weak! Who believes such a thing!
TreasureSeeker is right: This fragrance does nothing to anyone, not even to me!
It is not annoying, not loud; it seems rather that it is just sitting on my wrist, biding its (with whomever) agreed time, before turning to more important matters.
I admit: By its name, I expected a slightly perverse fragrance creation that might even make me exclaim “Whoa!”
So: There is no reason to fear “Necromancy" made by "Sixteen92"!
One should take a cue from it and simply sleep for another hour.
