To quote the infamous Lord Lytton, "It was a dark and stormy night..."-and the less we say about Lytton, the better.
But seriously folks, Claire is a master of atmospherics, and this is just magnificent.
You stand in a forest full of pine, spruce, and hemlock, sap dripping from the wounded trees. A storm rages above you; you can smell the ozone in the air and feel the prickle of electricity. A dark, black, musky mist swirls around your feet as your heart races, and you desperately search for the eyes you feel drilling through your skin and into your very bones.
If you're not into gothic horror, well, more's the pity. We could say that this is the invigorating scent of a New England forest in summer with a brief thunderstorm passing overhead. The pine, the hemlock, the wet soil, and your damp clothes. Petrichor mixed with gorgeous tree resin, musk, and warm, slightly damp skin.
Either way, the choice is yours. And whichever you choose, enjoy it. Buy a bottle.
