Yes, I know it's the middle of May and this is a Christmas fragrance, but when have I ever followed the rules of scent?
On my skin, the first thing I notice is creamy, bracing, mouth-numbing, ice-cold peppermint ice cream. Can you see me drooling already? Then I get notes of dry champagne and sugar, along with hints of a fresh breeze. That combination is what brings me poolside today; it smells like sitting outside at a posh kid's birthday party. Next come the papier-mâché notes—more glue than paper, but it perfectly reminds me of the homemade piñatas we used to have at our parties.
I just love it, and I think it's perfect for a warm, sunny day as well as a cool December afternoon. This may not be what Claire had in mind when she designed it, but then again, have me put it on during the last week of December and see where my brain takes me. That's the beauty of perfume: it is art you can wear.
