My First Time
You won't believe it. I did it.
You might be saying: What do you mean, Mlle? You're over 30 and you've never?
No, really not. But now I have. I ordered BLIND for the first time.
Yes, I know, for most people that's not a big deal with such a bargain. But what it means for me becomes clear when you look at my collection. It's relatively small because I only buy what I absolutely must have after it has been on my wishlist for at least a month. Last week, I finally ventured out of my comfort zone and I don't regret it.
Chapter 17, Remote Refrain starts with a fresh, juicy pear. What's nice is that it doesn't come off as artificial at all. It does fade a bit for me, but it remains consistent throughout. The white flowers come through quite quickly and give the fragrance a powdery, clean note. In general, it can be said that Chapter 17 smells more like freshly washed laundry than a perfume in the true sense. I can imagine that being very pleasant, especially in summer temperatures. In any case, you can't go wrong with it. The scent is supposed to reflect the Scandinavian fjord landscape and the "watery echo of the surrounding waterfalls." It's undeniably fresh, but I can't directly associate it with water. Some perfumers manage that (like you can smell the rain in "Dragonfly").
By the way, I still can't answer how pollen smells after this purchase. Maybe they are supposed to provide a certain sweetness, but in my opinion, that comes more from the pear.
All in all, I can say I don't regret my first time. Not at all. The only downside is the longevity (I didn't expect a crazy sillage anyway). On my skin, the scent lasts just about 4 hours, while it survives a workday on clothing.
As a fresh clean guy, Chapter 17 works very well!

With pollen, the allergy sufferer in me screams, but the fjord landscape brings me back on board.
