Vikt Slumberhouse 2009

"Vikt", after an original scratchy-herbaceous-green appearance thanks to Ravensara, soon becomes a dark, deep, balsamic, rounded, and surprisingly sweet Oud scent over time. The thick, rich potency that characterizes most Slumberhouse fragrances is present here as well, along with the typical Slumberhouse lightly caramelized sweetness reminiscent of honeyed dried fruits, a combination that is surprisingly effective with Oud for me. As it develops, Styrax adds a soft-smoky-resinous incense note that does not push forward but is harmoniously integrated into this deep, pleasant fragrance. Definitely a scent that breathes nature, forest, and wood while simultaneously exuding a soft deep sweetness. Due to the latter, not my cup of tea, but it should certainly find broad approval because of its predominantly soft, agreeable, and pleasant character.
