Purple marshmallow dreams

As a floral girlie, I can truthfully say that purple flowers are not my favorite. A lot of the time, they are too powdery and sharp for my liking. But I’ve learned that I absolutely adore purple flowers - when they are paired with gourmand notes! And that’s how SS Violet Mallow became my most coveted violet scent.

VM has a very simple composition of just four notes: vanilla, musk, vanilla, and marshmallow. You get all the notes in even concentration, and never does one note overpower another. The vanilla and marshmallow help to deeply soften a very natural, slightly fresh/ozonic violet, and without ever becoming too sickly sweet. The musk helps to give a slight warmth to a rather cold floral (violets and purple flowers always give me “cold” vibes!!). It’s oddly clean, super romantic, slightly lipstick-y, and dreamy. As if you’ve fallen into a bag of fluffy and dusty purple marshmallows.

As with most indies, they get better and better with maceration and time. The bottle I have now is super strong and all the notes have gotten deeper / more intense. I think it’s actually too soft for the winter, but could work well in the fall and spring. Ms. Angela really did her big one with this scent and I will always keep a bottle of it in my collection for a cute and fresh floral-gourmand.
