the river and the willow
"Il Fiume e il Salice" - the river and the willow.
Actually, that's a beautiful name for an Eau de Parfum: why "I Profumi di Firenze" created the name "Cashmere" for it now, I don't quite understand.
But it is really the same fragrance; it just got a different name!
My personal "word picker" gnawed for a while on the word "Salice"; like a bone, it chewed on it - until the enlightenment came.
Salice/willow - Salicin/active ingredient from willow bark - Salicylic acid/basis of a well-known painkiller and a vitamin C killer.
By the way, a teaspoon of willow bark, brewed with boiling water, after ten minutes of steeping replaces the painkiller. But the infusion is then very, very bitter.
All of this can be found on the internet; I don't want to say more about it.
Once there was finally peace and the "word picker" was satisfied, I could enjoy this fragrance experience.
Fully developed, it really reminds me of a peacefully flowing river, with willows on both banks.
The most beautiful are the weeping willows; wind and light play wonderfully with the long tendrils, whose ends almost float weightlessly in the water.
In the right lighting, they remind one of a woman's long hair, who lets herself drift relaxed and trails a hairy veil behind her.
"Cashmere" starts fresh and quite cool for me due to Angelica.
The top note consisting of somewhat harsher, not too sweet citrus fruits and the coolness of Angelica/angelica root set the stage for a harmonious fragrance development.
Even now, this composition reminds one of the freshness of the constantly moving water; it refreshes and relaxes at the same time.
The impression of the tree-lined river is impressively captured here in this tasteful bottle.
I am now referring to the statements on the "I Profumi di Firenze" website; I cannot describe the heart of this light-footed fragrance beauty more aptly and beautifully.
"The femininity of the scent of rose, gardenia, and jasmine is embraced by 'masculine galbanum' and the always welcome lily of the valley."
Together with the fruity freshness, a magical summer fragrance already emerges; the recurring nobility of the fragrance creations from this brand makes it special.
Sandalwood, also tastefully dosed here, and the warmth of vanilla prepare the previously light yet intense fragrance for the resinous amber spice: it refines "Cashmere".
Perhaps that is why this name was chosen as fitting.
Although "The river and the willow" also sounds very beautiful to me; it is more of a prelude to a beautifully woven light fragrance blanket that is very cuddly. And that lasts for several hours.
I am surprised that one of the fragrances from "I Profumi di Firenze" lasts relatively long.
But this is how a symphony of floral freshness and resinous spice develops, even for me, a "cold-blooded" person.
Thanks to Gelis, I had the opportunity to get to know this work of art from the Florentine perfume craft. I am delighted, even though I already know some of the creations: they are always charming.
With this delightful Florentine, warm summer days become more buoyant, more graceful.
One more reason to look forward to summer.
