Fragrances are often like clothes for certain seasons. If this isn't the case, they support a person's mood in a specific emotional or life situation.
After an emotionally exhausting day and having crashed the upcoming wedding of friends yesterday, since the future husband intended to sleep with me four days before tying the knot, I longed for a sweet and heavy scent in the evening that would lull me and rock me to sleep.
So I rushed into the drugstore just before closing, as I had often read good things about the fragrances from 'Spirit'. I grabbed some test strips, quickly sprayed them all, and found 'cashmere musk' to be good. Thus, this perfume quickly landed in my shopping bag.
Once home, I boldly sprayed it on my wrists. An initially strange smell displaced the sweetness. It wasn't alcoholic... just strange. I went into the kitchen to tidy up, giving the fragrance time to unfold. And yes! It did. For my standards, it's nicely sweet and heavy. I am a fan of powdery/floral/delicate sweet scents. But this one knocks me off my feet. There is a hint of similarity to Hypnotic Poison, but I wouldn't necessarily call this scent the ultimate dupe.
Sprayed on last night, still distinctly noticeable after sleeping. The longevity is great! Normally, I absorb fragrances like a sponge, regardless of whether they are expensive or cheap. But this one has an unbelievably long lasting power for my standards, and its sillage is also decent.
I'm heading to Dresden today to see Depeche Mode... a little ray of hope after yesterday's day. I will annoy everyone with this scent today because I feel like it. I believe fragrances also express moods. In winter, the heavy/sweet ones come into play... then, when it's freezing cold outside, your mood is in the basement - and you make yourself cozy at home with chocolate and tea in front of the TV. But sometimes I also feel drawn to scents on days like these that outwardly express what moves you inside. Sometimes it just has to be, and I don't find it bad at all.
If you're more of a Spongebob type like me, you'll enjoy the longevity of this fragrance! For just about 4 bucks, you really can't go wrong!
Oh my gosh. The wedding crash scene really gives me the creeps. I hope you and your girlfriend are handling the shock well. Hats off to your courage, and I wish you a relaxing time enjoying the scent. :)
