A bitter dream of a rose
One of my absolute favorite fragrances, a classic for me. First of all, the fragrance lasts an incredibly long time - I'm not talking about how long it lasts (although that's not to be sneezed at either), but I mean that it doesn't fade. I had the fragrance sitting around for 15 years and only ever used it very sparingly as it used to be difficult for me to get hold of. It hasn't changed a bit, which really impressed me. Perhaps it was partly due to the slightly darkened bottle of the old version (and of course good storage on my part, away from light in the cupboard).
It is a rosy fragrance, the rose is clearly in the foreground for me. It is somehow girly and playful, yet it has something tart, something distant about it. This is probably what sets it apart from other rose fragrances and makes it so special. It doesn't pander, it doesn't demand too much from others, it is simply there and stands for itself, if that makes sense. Definitely recommendable!

I'm wearing it right now. Beautiful and simple, and not at all squeaky-cute.

Unfortunately, it's no longer available. If you like that sort of thing, you could perhaps try Eau Rose EdP by Dyptique..

What a shame. Then I've already had the second edition for a very long time and luckily it still lasts, as I only use the fragrance sparingly. Thanks for the tip for the similar fragrance.
