Mint took a turn for the resinous, smoky side of things
I was given given a sample of this fragrance from a Facebook fragrance group member. SHL perfumes have never been on my list due to various reasons: accessiblity, notes didn't seem to pique my interest overall and the price. I was thus pretty curious to try this one out, since mint is a note I favor, even though the other notes listed here made me a bit wary.
For those who want a mint type of fragrance where the green leaves are the stars, this is not it. I did get mint at the beginning of the scent, but it didn't remain the fresh, lush, spicy mint I thought it'd be. It becomes spicy and warm during most of its time with some depth that are given by the other notes (but I'm not able to tell them apart). I wouldn't say its the star as the notes don't necessarily support it. It becomes a bit of a jumbled scent, even though I still recognized the mint through it all. The drydown becomes sweeter for awhile due to the date. But as it starts top truly dry down, it becomes a dry, resinous scent with a strong smokiness. Mint has entirely disappeared in favor of a desert-liuke drydown.
Since I'm not a fan of resins and smokiness in a fragrance, this one is not it. Still glad I got to try it, but resins and smokiness do not resonate with me unfortunately.
