Stephen Burrows, one of the first African-American luxury fashion designers to achieve international acclaim, styling such famed clientele as Farrah Fawcett, Brooke Shields, and Cher. He released own fragrance in 1975 to great fanfare, including a commercial featuring Jaclyn Smith. The fragrance itself is not dissimilar to Max Factor's own lovely multi-floral chypre Geminesse, with some of that long-strides-in-slacks green mossy tang of Charlie, and heaps of spices, benzoin and patchouli.
It is very much of its time, and has sadly faded into utter obscurity after what was a relatively brief run. Bottles of varying condition can still be had for an agreeable price, and my pressurized atomizer cologne spray is a fun wear. It isn't necessarily a stand out among the multitude of releases of its vein in the mid-70s, yet owning it is more like having a bit of forgotten history, and as a tribute to a trailblazing designer.
