...into porcelain. The scent reminds me of "The One" by Dolce & Gabbana. A way too sweet opening with a way too sweet remainder.

I received the sample last time at Beauty Affair in Düsseldorf. Sprayed on the test strip, it didn't make a good impression. But on the skin, unfortunately, it doesn't get any better. I can't say much about the price, as I didn't remember it, but it could end up smelling like a cheap drugstore fragrance.
I just washed my hands with the Vetiver soap from Frédéric Malle, and the scent is by far better, and for a soap, also more intense.

With "King of Cool," you can smell the apple with a solid cardamom base note. The scent lingers for several hours without much development. A hint of cedar might be sensed at some point, but it's already strange that Beauty Affair sells this fragrance.

Thanks for the sample, but Steve will never be a friend of mine.

I am pleasantly surprised! Although I don't know DG The One, because I was disillusioned after several attempts with DG fragrances, King of Cool is ...cool!
My knowledge of men's fragrances is not outstanding, yet I find it refreshingly different. It doesn't chase any current trends; in the Dougi Top Ten, there is no other fragrance like it, and that is already a plus for me. The longevity is also above average, the sillage better than some other fragrances, and less overwhelming than, for example, One Million...
Now to the scent:
The top note is incredibly delicious-spicy and has that certain fresh sharpness, or is it sharp freshness, that I like in men's fragrances.
The heart note does lean towards woody, but it also retains the spicy fresh character with a little apple kick.
I like it!
The base is old school, unfortunately reminding me a bit of Photo by Lagerfeld, which deducts some points, so!
But the base can also be attributed an oriental note, and thus it stays in the race.
If I didn't know better, I would say the fragrance has revived the 80s, and Steve McQueen ....yes, he will never die!
I won't even start on Chuck Norris...

Yesterday, I discovered a fragrance called "Steve McQueen - King of cool - pour Homme" at a car show. Now, one might first wonder: what is a perfume doing at a car show? The answer is quite simple, as Steve McQueen was, not only in his films, a car enthusiast ... So much for that.

Since I had never heard of this scent before, I was very curious and sprayed some on myself ... I was a bit confused when I smelled myself: I recognized the scent from somewhere. I couldn't figure it out ... so I moved on and tried to sniff out the individual ingredients. The fragrance starts very light and citrusy and a bit smoky, then it becomes increasingly heavier and fuller. It's a great scent that I sprayed on, but apart from a hint of lemon and the apple in the top note, a bit of cinnamon in the heart note, and patchouli in the base note, I couldn't identify anything else.

But I kept realizing that my nose knew this smell ... This combination in the heart note. But I couldn't figure it out ... and couldn't figure it out ... and couldn't figure it out ... and ... peeeeeeng! there was the realization: it smells just like The One by Dolce & Gabbana. Sniffed again: yesss, that IS The One! If I hadn't known better, I would have been ninety-nine percent sure that I had sprayed D&G on my wrist and not Steve McQueen!!!!

If you compare the fragrance pyramids of both scents, you can also find a little similarity ... However, the two perfumes are much more alike than their (listed) ingredients:

Steve McQueen:
Top note: Lemon, green apple, marigold
Heart note: Cardamom, sage, cinnamon
Base note: Patchouli, amber, juniper

The One:
Top note: Basil, grapefruit, coriander
Heart note: Ginger, cardamom, orange blossom
Base note: Amber, tobacco, cedar

The color also seems to be quite similar ... at least it looks that way in the light of the exhibition hall. I don't want to accuse anyone, but it seems to me that they have heavily borrowed from The One. Conversely, it is not possible, as The One was released in 2008 and Steve McQueen in 2010.

Copied or not: the longevity is really top-notch ... No wonder, the scent is an EdP, and not an EdT, as I initially thought. I tested the fragrance around 1 PM and this morning I could still perceive it, despite showering. A men's fragrance that is suitable for elegant and chill evenings. I wouldn't necessarily wear it in the height of summer, more in spring and autumn.

I love The One by D&G ... and since this one comes very, very close to The One, I like it too ... however, there are some points deducted for the good old Steve McQueen ... because anyone who copies so blatantly cannot expect a full score!!!!

Nevertheless, it is a great scent - more for the mature man than for teens or wannabe tough guys!

Steve McQueen made a cool mark with his roles in the film classics "The Magnificent Seven," "Papillon," "Getaway," "Bullitt," as well as in many other noteworthy films, and he also managed to impress as an amateur race car driver in "Le Mans." Yes, Steve McQueen was a top actor and sadly passed away far too early. Coolness was his trademark.

In his memory, his children Chad and Terry McQueen have now launched a second fragrance called "King of Cool," following "Steve McQueen pour Homme." Not a crime in itself. However, with such a fragrance, one tends to have quite high expectations. The ingredients suggest something between citrus-fresh and spicy-woody. But it smells from start to finish only of super-sweet strawberry juice - similar to Black XS by Paco Rabanne, just even more intense. This is not necessarily dramatic and is more a matter of taste. But to offer this under the guise of their father or "King of Cool" feels rather tasteless to me, as it has as much to do with Steve McQueen as a banker does with the concept of conscience.

A few years ago, the late actor was involuntarily featured in a Ford Puma advertisement. At that time, it was an outrage, just like this fragrance, which seems to be intended only to line the pockets of his heirs through corpse exploitation.

Nothing against the name and nothing against the concept, but please not in this way.
