The Forest of Silence

The forest, resting in the dew, before the first rays of morning. The air shimmers with the aromas of awakening as the warmth begins to let all the juices flow. A deep, ancient spice of mushrooms and roots, of bitter green ferns and trees. From bark to needle and leaf.

This scent practically explodes on the skin. It snaps a picture of a forest, in the twilight between day and night, in my brain and over the nerve endings in my nose. As if one were floating in the midst of this awakening. All impressions are there and flow through me. Filigree nuances, which one aligns their olfactory sense to savor them more.

Fougère Noire is not just any fern scent. It is the loving interpretation of a forest in its untouched beauty. Free from distortion and exaggeration, e.g., of the trees, the resins, or the needle greens. Notes of coffee sharpen a few details as an aromatic carrier and add an aromatic warmth.

It is the scent at the moment of the first sun rays, in which everything that makes the forest is present.
Without a leading actor.
Simply just there.

Your wonderful words have brought back childhood memories for me. Collecting chanterelles in June, very early in the morning with Dad in the woods. I have to try this!
