Stockholm Citron
Lemon in the base is rather rare to find in fragrance pyramids. However, it makes its presence known here as expected right from the top note. So it is different in the course than the perfumer seemingly intended.
The lemon, with a slight tendency towards candied lemon, is undoubtedly the main actor or number 1. Initially, it has a slight acidity, a bit lively, accompanied by some warm spicy components as well as a few splashes of slightly sharp ginger and a hint of orange.
In the drydown, it becomes a bit softer with subtle hints of benzoin. These blend very delicately with the citrus notes. A little more of that could have given the whole thing a special kick.
However, the Tiare does not come through well on my skin, or not at all. What a pity. That would have added a special touch to it. In contrast, the scent on paper seems much more interesting, especially in the drydown, and distances itself from classic citrus creations. Do I even recognize the Tiare with the benzoin? Now I am a bit puzzled.
I also can't quite settle on a rating: only seven points seems a bit low given the recognizable ambition. On the other hand, 7.5 seems a bit too much, as this number 1 doesn't really captivate me. There are far more interesting options in this segment.
