Great Overall Package
Unfortunately, I did not find the hoped-for furniture polish scent here. Overall, I waver between a rating of 7.5 and 8, as I may have had too high expectations due to the many positive reviews and imagined the scent quite differently. My first impression was primarily a strong leather smell that remains even until the drydown. I kept thinking I could also smell a bit of cherry, but the dried fruits dominate. After application, Dehn el Oud Mubarak (the name evokes associations of Libya for me, which also describes the scent well) initially had a rather medicinal quality, accompanied by a strong sandalwood scent. Over time, a berry aroma emerged, with a bit of spice added. After hours, I thought of pipe tobacco while sniffing, and an earthy note manifested itself. At this point, the fragrance oil reminds me more of the scent note "damp wood," similar to Oud Assam by Maison Anthony Marim. The drydown was accompanied by a pleasant hay scent (like myrrh). Overall, the fragrance oil seemed rather simple to me; the scent notes give me the impression that there is much more in the bottle than just the aforementioned notes. I find this extremely successful. It comes across as absolutely high-quality, the design is modern-elegant and noble.
