The Perfection of a Powder Dream
I met Sylvaine Delacourte a few years ago at an event where she personally introduced Tonka Imperiale. A petite person, French-chic understated, with a soft voice and no grand gestures, yet very passionate in her presentation. Her eyes sparkled as she gently, almost tenderly, touched the tonka beans she had brought for demonstration, and looked lovingly at the showcased flacons. It was immediately clear how much she lived for her profession. Recently, I learned that she has created her own line, and I was eager to get to know it, as it is called "Muscs," and I immediately associated it with L'Instant Magic and its musquinade, the little-known and underappreciated cuddle accord that I adore.
But which musc should I prefer? Florentina won when I read that the fragrance includes iris, almonds, and orange blossom. That was an excellent decision, as even the top note is heavenly. Iris-violet-dragée-powdery sweet.
It is also unusually dense and long-lasting, not as fleeting as some others.
The heart note is floral-powdery and gains even more projection. Gradually, the fragrance loses its innocent sweetness and becomes slightly woody-green, which I attribute to the vetiver. Overall, however, it is so perfect that I could melt with happiness.
A new, younger variant of L'heure bleue crossed with hints of Amour by Il Profumo and Anglomania by Westwood.
All beautiful, all powdery, but Florentina uniquely bridges the gap from contemporary to super romantic. A little wonder, made by Sylvaine.

"Melting with happiness" - that really captures it well! Thanks for the comment. For me, it's also one of the most beautiful from the line! Very fine powder, quite light and downy soft.

Sounds great. I also met Sylvaine D. in person last year. Very, very impressive. Where did you get to test it? P.S. I just read your ticker entry, so I happily clicked helpful. Because that’s your comment.
