When there was a sale at Taif Al-Emarat for Black Friday and I had already been very excited about the UAE-Oud, I took the plunge and ordered two perfumes from there. One was the Year of Zayed, which was aptly described here on Parfumo, and the other was Qatar.
When the fragrance arrived, I unboxed it with great anticipation. In my excitement, I had completely forgotten the scent notes, so I tested it right away. The first sprays. Immediately, you are enveloped by a citrusy, slightly bitter note, with a hint of ginger. Then the spices come forward. Clove and cinnamon are quite dominant here. After some time on the skin, a dark chocolatey note develops, slightly creamy. The leather also makes an appearance. I am absolutely thrilled. It's hard to find similarities to other fragrances; I would describe it as a blend of Xerjoff's Groove Xcape and Nouveau Monde. The best of both worlds. The longevity and sillage also leave little room for criticism.
All in all, a very good fragrance, and I am glad I bought it. Generally, I have been very impressed with the scents from Taif Al-Emarat so far. Unfortunately, it is a bit more difficult to get hold of them. If you order through their website, you unfortunately have to reckon with quite high shipping fees and import duties.
