Strange how common everyday scents gradually shape our preferences. Some of what is found in cheap fragrances in detergents and household chemicals reappears as a fresh note in expensive perfumes. It is perceived as pleasant, perhaps even natural.
If you want to experience a different kind of freshness in your laundry than that of April, spray it with a good lavender water! For example, this one. It is a lavender scent as it should be, completely free of creative gimmicks: dark blue and profoundly deep, while being pleasantly cool and ethereal, but also herbal. And completely without the addition of vanilla, which unfortunately has been in vogue for lavender perfumes since 1949 (Pour un Homme de Caron).
On my skin, this lavender water fades very quickly and then smells stale and not very good. It does not work at all with sweat. It serves other purposes.
