The way you describe it, it sounds incredibly interesting and I think I would really like it. Although I'm starting to find it a bit disappointing that all the coffee scents I've encountered so far always come with such dryness... I think I would have wished for a bit more (non-fruity) juice.
@Naninonunom I haven't tested that many coffee scents yet, but I'm increasingly noticing that I often like the note (even though I don't actually like drinking it!!). This one is also on the drier side. I'm curious to see if you find your dream coffee scent :)
Of all the Teones I've tested so far, this one was my favorite. It reminded me why I once had Santal Majuscule in my collection and what it was missing.
Coffee and cocoa always make me hesitate, but who knows, maybe one day I'll find a scent that my nose doesn't rate as "unpleasant." It worked wonderfully with roses, after all. 😉
Ah how lovely, he has a good home with you. I think it's incredibly well made, just not quite me. I still don't know the reference, maybe I'll fix that sometime!
I had Santal Majuscule in my collection for a while and was pretty in love with it at first - but that unfortunately faded. I was thinking about that, except that Bitter Sweet seems more complex and beautiful to me, and the orange fits perfectly. The trend is looking up :)
I found it interesting that even the orange didn't come across as dripping juicy, but rather aromatic and deeply fruity. That's how I like my citrus fruits... maybe I should go orange hunting this summer ;)
Very interesting statement, I might feel the same way. Such scents can quickly become annoying, but on the other hand, they can also be captivating. Definitely more suited for winter; in summer, it would probably be too sweet for me. I might need to give it a sniff...
For me, the more exciting and versatile Santal Majuscule: it starts off completely dry with a dark spiciness, featuring a lot of cocoa and a bit of ground coffee. A completely unsweet orange, sprinkled with cardamom, lies on the windowsill and gradually takes over the heart note. I really like the fruity depth of this citrus without excessive fruitiness or bitterness. As it moves to the base, the orange fades away, and a dry, non-creamy sandalwood glows in the amber bed, just a little sweetened.
I might enjoy this scent even more in the cold season, or it could start to annoy me ;) It has potential for both.
Thank you so much to @Jeob for the lovely fragrance!
A candidate for the wish list!
I really like your description below as well.
As always, beautifully detailed description!
