As always, I can't resist the fragrance shelves and with a glance, I skimmed over the new arrivals. I found the shower gels from the company to be decent so far, but I struggled with the scents. This was also the case with the new fragrance Karma.
As a teenager in the 70s, the orange color with the oriental pattern immediately caught my eye. Flower Power, flared pants, miniskirts, platform shoes, Abba, and George Baker Selection flashed through my mind in seconds. This fragrance had to be tested. I expected something with patchouli, the trendy scent of the time, but that was a swing and a miss.
The opening was extremely sharp and artificial, and I felt like I was back in those days. Memories of a Saturday in my neighborhood came flooding back. Uncle Jupp set up the bright red rubber boat and the orange steep-wall tent for the nudist vacation in St. Peter-Ording. His wife, Siggi, arrived with her hair all done up and a huge cloud of hairspray behind her, like concrete. Kids Daggi and Rolli had baked waffles but burned them. You could do that as a teenager. Then Grandma Änne showed up. Freshly permed curls tinted purple and smelling of hairspray and hair salon. Son-in-law Kurt rolled up with the bakery on wheels, and the smell of bread mixed in. Everyone examined Uncle Jupp's setup. Then his kids checked the air mattress and the swim rings. Now there was also the smell of plastic toys. Smoking was fashionable back then and not a half crime, and cigarette smoke wafted everywhere.
All this scent mixture is the fragrance Karma. The opening is artificial, then a full blast of flowers where frangipani, tiaré, and ylang-ylang fought over who would dominate the scent. Accordingly, there is a disharmony. Later, the remaining notes also fought, and again, there was no winner. To me, it was a stench. Sorry, but that's how I perceived the fragrance.
Longevity is quite long, and unfortunately, for sensitive people, it's a headache candidate. The bottle visually appealed to me, but unfortunately, the content did not. Luckily, I only tested it.
Dissonant and confusing. That's how I felt about the scent too. There were also artificial plastic notes, which can be found in some Tesoris. It's a shame, really. The pyramid looks so promising.
Other Tesori fragrances are good.
