Hyacinth Meets Vetiver
Vapeurs de Gate is a very unusual fragrance; the combination of the strong hyacinth with the vetiver is, in my opinion, not really fitting.
The opening is very fruity, although I cannot pinpoint the pineapple, and extremely floral due to the hyacinth. Additionally, a certain soapiness develops that I do not particularly like.
Fortunately, the soapy note fades soon, and Vapeurs becomes fresh and unusually green. The vetiver starts to emerge.
In the base, Vapeurs remains green but also becomes a bit powdery. Patchouli, amber, and musk are hidden away, with only the vanilla coming through a little at the end.
Vapeurs feels very synthetic to me and not well-executed. The longevity is more than sufficient at around six hours, and the sillage is also not bad. Best worn in leisure time during warm temperatures.
