Colorful grapefruit
Luxury is when ordinary things are outrageously expensive.
Live in Colours is luxury.
There's no real reason why this fragrance should be so blatantly expensive. We are dealing with a typical modern (and modern-smelling) fresh-green citrus, beautifully unisex, fine, but really no revelation. The price can't be put down to the performance either, because the sillage, which starts strong but only lasts for an hour and a half before diminishing to dry down close to the skin after just over 3½ hours, doesn't cut it.
Nor is it the way in which the fragrance appears. In addition to the citrusy, fresh and green scents already mentioned, there are also hints of fruitiness in the fragrance, which is simply labeled "red fruits". However, this plays a role in the background at best. Lemon is at the forefront, but above all grapefruit. "Live in Colors | The House of Oud" is primarily a grapefruit fragrance. The clear and slightly spicy ginger provides the freshness, making it modern and easy to digest.
A successful fragrance for everyday wear or leisure time in summer and also good to wear during sports. It's not complex, not particularly so, so why pay over €200 for 75 ml?
But I am also stricter here than I should be. If the fragrance were ⅔ cheaper, I would recommend it. Especially grapefruit fans. It's by no means bad, in fact it's quite successful, has a nice tart citrus, no sweetness and a freshness that doesn't become unpleasant even in the mid-summer ultra-heat. You can definitely wear it. But as with so many luxury fragrances, this one also has to put up with being outclassed by many cheaper competitors in terms of price-performance.
The bottle is super special, as is typical of the brand, but anyone who loves Easter will also like The House of Oud.
