Classic perfume with a beautiful vintage bottle
Yes, I admit it: I bought the fragrance just for the bottle. On eBay. Because it’s so beautifully vintage. The contents were actually relatively unimportant to me. Despite the fact that it wasn't cheap. It took me a while to figure out what I had actually gotten myself into. There’s a sticker on the bottom of the bottle - it says Tiffany by Tiffany Co. In the end, only the image search helped me, the bottle is quite unique. I can't really find out what's inside. So I had to rely on my nose.
Scent impression: The bottle is for pouring, not spraying, so classic dabbing is not an option. Overall, the perfume immediately feels classic. Aldehydes. Early bloomers, clove. Underneath, it's subtly woody, incense comes through, a bit of patchouli and a little sweetness. After the initial burst, it becomes wonderfully warm and oriental. It could just as well be from Chanel. But definitely over 50 - the scent, not the wearer.
I did find the following description: "This perfume was discontinued in the late 1960s; because of the name, the Louangel company was sued by Tiffany & Company for use of the name Tiffany. It is classified as a floral oriental fragrance for women. Top notes: aldehydes, honey Middle notes: rose, carnation, jasmine, ylang ylang, orange blossom, tuberose Base notes: amber, sandalwood, patchouli, oakmoss, musk, frankincense"
The description makes sense, but I can hardly identify the floral notes as they are well intertwined. So if you ever come across this little bottle, feel free to take a sniff. Fans of classic scents (No 5 or so) will be delighted.
And you can't complain about the quality - if my bottle is already at least 60 years old, you really can't tell that from the contents at all.
