The age of this song by the Moody Blues is already evident in the fact that letters were still being written back then:
Whether they were sent or ended up in the trash.
Who still writes letters today?
A loving email for farewell is sometimes worth being stored in the cloud.
Perhaps this is a too nostalgic perspective; but I still find it a pity.
I always enjoyed writing letters; I still do it occasionally today!
However, I must contradict my comment title right away:
White satin is not exactly the first impression I get when encountering "Night" by The White Company.
At most, it resembles a noble nightgown made of silk satin that lovingly and sinfully embraces the body.
"Night" initially reminds me of a soft nothing, perhaps made of down or fluff, in which one can sink; felt for eternity - so indeed: "never reaching the end"!
For me, there is no clear scent progression: golden-brown patchouli weaves through vanilla, caressing me, while occasionally fruity moments of pomegranate or tart blackcurrant flash by: small sparkling facets populate the scent fabric.
So absolutely no fragrance for powdery scent noses!
The powder puff stays in the drawer, and the creamy-white vanilla flows lazily and sensually, like a luxurious rich body lotion; it envelops me in tenderness!
This fragrant night promises no more than it can deliver; a long loving embrace that can sometimes last into the early morning hours.
A delicate, very soft hint of well-being remains - intertwined with dreams and longings.
The few drops of "Night" that remain from the decant will be treated with care:
perhaps they can evoke further "white" dreams?
Dark night hours are very familiar to me, so I especially thank Heikeso for this sample of a magical dream fragrance.
