Is this fragrance worth the price?

I received Atlantide as a sample today. The price and the entire design made me so curious about the scent that I absolutely wanted to test it. A retail price of €650 is certainly a statement. Accordingly, Atlantide must really smell very luxurious.

Atlantide opens with an explosion of tuberose followed by the typical Tiziana Terenzi passion fruit. These are the two main players of Atlantide. After a little over an hour, a few berries make their way through the passion fruit and tuberose, pulling Atlantide towards the fruity side. From all the other floral notes, I can only identify an orange blossom. The base naturally contains a hefty dose of musk and a bit of amber, with these notes primarily used to fix the more volatile notes.

Now we come to the question that probably interests all readers the most: is Atlantide worth the price? I can clearly say no; even though the entire design is insane and Tiziana Terenzi was able to fully unleash their creativity here, the content is definitely very good but not worth €650, at most €300. Here, you are certainly paying over 50% just for the design and exclusivity. Of course, in the end, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they are willing to do this. Personally, I am not, but for a price under €350, I would actually consider a purchase.

Honestly, I don't understand the name Atlantide at all. The Atlantic is rather wild, stormy, and has a typical smell of the sea. However, Atlantide smells more like a trip to the Caribbean or a vacation on a tropical beach.

I find Atlantide only slightly similar to Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc. Atlantide is definitely an independent and very good fragrance.

The longevity is over 10 hours. The top note practically clings to the skin. The sillage is also very strong for 5-6 hours, after which it begins to fade and become more intimate.

If there are really only 1000 bottles of this fragrance and it stays that way, then you can definitely think about whether it's worth the high price.

It's just exhausting and annoying that someone always has to correct others in a certain way, especially since I don't like the tone here. "Live and let live" would be a great motto for this place.

Thanks for the cynical response. For those who are familiar with mythology, it's known that the supposed Atlantis was located in the Atlantic Ocean, near the Pillars of Hercules, which is today's Strait of Gibraltar. That's why your statement is incorrect. How is Atlantis supposed to smell, anyway? Naturally, the first thing that comes to mind is to look at its geographical location; I'm already aware of the description of the perfume.

The problem is simply that probably no one here knows what Paolo Terenzi might have been thinking with the name Atlantide. But you're right that the meaning could really be closer to Atlantis than to the Atlantic.

Atlantide also means more in the direction of the inhabitants of Atlantis, so it's maybe a bit mythically inspired.
But how that’s supposed to smell, I have no idea ;)
