Yesterday at Douglas
My cousin wanted to convince me yesterday, while we were waiting for my train to Cologne, that Hannover isn't as bleak and ugly as it seems.
While I was on the lookout for snacks, I came across a Douglas store. Since I recently heard they had added Xerjoff to their selection, I was tempted to venture into the cave of synthetics and mainstream.
Not wanting to annoy my cousin, I stuck to the first shelf, just a meter from the entrance.
No Xerjoff, but I also wanted to check out Beau de Jour.
In general, I noticed a very well-curated selection on this shelf amidst the sweet artificial clouds.
Some Douglas branches surprise you positively and show passion with the means they have.
Unfortunately, Beau de Jour was packaged when I got to the Tom Ford section.
But the Grey Vetiver tester caught my eye.
At first sniff, I only smelled the familiar Douglas scent.
But outside, there was a woody fruity mix.
The typical smoky vetiver lingered in the background.
From the woody fresh notes, the familiar vetiver DNA emerged quickly (in less than 20 minutes).
For me, it's a very nice fragrance, as I love smoky scents.
I don't know if the name influences me, but instead of a green scent profile, I perceive a dry yellow-brown steppe.
Which I really like, as I said!
Have a great day and achieve what you want to achieve :)

I think the scent is great too. However, the longevity and sillage aren't that good. It's a shame for such a wonderful fragrance.

Tom Ford gets a lot of hate from some people. I have no idea why. I think Grey Vetiver is really great too. Nice review, thanks!

This thing definitely has personality! A clean vetiver mixed with some wood and citrus that leaves you wanting more.
