The first great love never fades

Oud Wood was indeed - probably like for many here - my entry into perfumes and maybe also a little into the niche fragrances, despite having a very mainstream taste that I still have today. This scent also caught my attention on Parfumo almost 5 years ago. "Back then" (the old hands here in the forum should please forgive me) I was in my early 20s, binge-watching Jeremy Fragrance videos, reading all the reviews here, and testing the fragrance in retail several times. At that time, nearly 130€ for 30ml was still unthinkable for a perfume, but it didn't let me go. It took almost a year until I finally bought the fragrance. I fell in love immediately and still am to this day. I think enough has already been written about the scent itself, and in my opinion, the hype is still completely justified. Those who, like me, entered the world of perfume with the mainstream Tom Fords can surely agree that the bottle designs were iconic and fascinating for the period from 2018-2020 (as I said, the old Parfumo veterans here may forgive me for my perspective;).
I quickly found my way around the forum, and after I bought my first 30ml of Oud Wood in-store, it really took off. From souk to souk, from review to review, from dupe to dupe, everything was absorbed. Today, I have several hundred ml of Oud Wood sitting around, which (hopefully will last for years &) I have crazily collected bit by bit. Even if one is not on Parfumo for months and sometimes loses interest in perfumes for a while, one always ends up back here, and in my case, I always end up back at Oud Wood. I hardly wear the fragrance anymore, yet I often take it out and sniff it a little, as if to remind myself of my old love. Perhaps a large part of the readers here do not understand what kind of review this is supposed to be, but I think a certain part will be able to empathize quite accurately with what it was like to buy the first bottle of Tom Ford and wear the fragrance that accompanied a part of youth into adulthood.

Hey Mabix,
you don't have to justify your wonderful journey into the world of Oud Wood. I could relate so well - thank you for that!
