Do you know the film Ratatouille, where the critic is mentally transported back to his youth during a tasting? That's how I felt when I first tested this fragrance. The keyword here is: incense and incense cones, plenty of it. But not old-fashioned, rather in a modern form. Personally, I have found my love for resinous scents in recent years, and Vert d'Encens fits perfectly into this category. The fragrance starts with a full, rounded yet powerful balsamic note. Here, the incense and pine resin blend wonderfully. Over time, the base notes become more pronounced. They remind me of drying pine wood.
The longevity is superb; I can still perceive the scent on me the next morning. I can't understand why Tom Ford is discontinuing this perfume from the line. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to find online...
