Complex & Misunderstood

To preface, I’m a not a Tom Ford girlie. I have tried countless scents from them and been disappointed or repulsed by most. The closest I ever came to loving something from Tom Ford is this here White Patchouli. She’s wildly misunderstood, but it’s okay, because no one can compare to her.

I know everyone hates patchouli and while I can’t blame them, I can tell them that they’re missing out on some of the best fragrances out there. Sexy, long lasting, and alluring fragrances. White Patchouli has a duality of being so classy but also so sexy, with its combination of patchouli, white florals, rose, and that odd coriander note. It makes you crinkle your nose when you initially smell it, but when the composition mixes with the heat of your skin, it melts in this gorgeous, soft, “white” scent. I’m one of the lucky people that patchouli doesn’t smell like dirt to / on, so maybe that’s why I enjoy it so much. The best part about WP is the sillage. When you wear this, you leave the most beautiful and intoxicating trail.

Although it’s not a crowd pleasing scent, it’s one that’ll get you noticed (maybe not always in the best way) and unexpected compliments. Longevity and projection are really amazing and I’ve heard this one is an absolute show stopper in the heat of summer. I’m happy to have a bottle and I can’t wait to test her in all seasons. It’s sad that TF discontinued this one, but I think that makes it even more of a gem. This scent is for the classiest of the classy, who like luxurious things, have lots of money, but not lots of time.
