If only you had stayed in Düsseldorf.....
Toni Gard - the label - I have known for as long as I can remember. (WHO murmured that, not at all?) I worked for years across the street on Königsallee and from afar adored one of the employees who looked like a flesh-and-blood dream. Sometimes he would come into my shop, and I was allowed to exchange a few words with him, which came very hard to my lips, as the man was forbiddenly handsome and robbed me of any rhetorical abilities. He was always impeccably dressed, of course in Toni Gard. One evening in the Düsseldorf Old Town, I noticed someone who looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. Actually good-looking, casually dressed, completely drunk and in equally drunken company, he was trying to eat a döner but was having difficulties due to his alcohol level. It was only after I lost sight of him again that I remembered where I knew him from. Without a suit and hair gel, he was hardly recognizable. I had encountered my dream man! I could have talked to him without stuttering, and I messed it up.
Days later, I saw him again, sharp as always. I immediately had the döner scene in mind and smiled at him. He smiled back! But he had lost his aura, he was demystified. From then on, we chatted casually from time to time, and when I changed jobs, I never saw him again.
Toni Gard Woman came onto the market shortly after, and I found the scent incredibly good and very fitting for the label. Ahead of its time, gourmand, noble, unobtrusive, good longevity, understated bottle. But when the scent disappeared again, I didn't shed a tear for it. Now it is back and is just as good as it was before, if I remember correctly:
Very fresh, light top note. In the heart note, many aromatic treats, where I have always interpreted an anise note, creamy-woody, incredibly delicious. No big sillage, but that's Toni Gard, dreamily beautiful, noble, but not intrusive.
Nice that it is back!

Wow, that's not bad at all. Fig leaf, lilac, and marzipan - now that's a combo! Fresh and elegant.
