A marzipan-thick surprise!
When my grandma emphasized that the Douglas man had thrown in a sample with her new 4711 Nouveau Cologne bottle, I was naturally curious about what one would offer to a nearly 90-year-old woman and what a Dougi seller thinks would suit her. My grandma couldn't read it without her glasses and a lot of effort, but I could hardly hide my shock when I read Toni Gard. That couldn't be right. One can be mistaken, I would have never expected that from Mrs. Gard. But after the initial positive shock, he definitely had a leg up and deserved a chance.
It's a marzipan perfume - but please don't be alarmed! The heliotrope is portrayed here so light-footed, powdery, and initially fruity that it's a joy to wear, it's a real flatterer and protector. And truly so soft that you shouldn't only wear it for going out in the winter evenings, it would be far too precious just for that. Such an affordable alternative deserves to be shown off and worn in daylight. Even by male powder & marzipan fans. Neither fig nor jasmine annoy me or do I even smell them, the scent is very nicely blended. I would have to search hard to find something to criticize, and that would be very nitpicky. And positive surprises should not be diminished by made-up criticism. Powdery cuddly marzipan, juicy fruits at the beginning, and enough floral notes to identify it as a women's perfume - plus, no piggy bank needs to suffer.
Bottle: well, that's not really for me.
Sillage: Marzipan light pleases me
Longevity: 8 hours is much more than expected.
I don't even want to start with comparisons - even an incredibly surprisingly beautiful Toni Gard can't compete with a marzipan interpretation from Guerlain. But in its class, the scent is more than recommendable and a lovely entry fragrance into the vast world of perfumes for style-conscious girls or young women.
